DAY SEVENTEEN: TO CHAING MAI

We woke up extremely excited because we were finally going to Chaing Mai today! We've all been so excited all trip for it. We rode a plane rather than the night-long bus ride (much to my relief). And to all of our excitement, most of the Thais we've met so far decided to tag a long with us! Ahn, Gahn, Pi Sue (of course), Minju, and Agent Jay flew with us to Chaing Mai only to meet up with Naan and Tar.

Our first night there we stayed at an amazing restort-esque hotel. None of us could believe it when we showed up, it was so nice! There was an infinity pool, an insanely nice room with a queen sized bed for me (i get a room to myself since there are an odd number of girls), and we enjoyed a very modern delicious meal there for lunch. We took a quick dip in the pool before piling into a "tap-tap" (that's what they're called in Haiti; I'm not sure for Thailand). This is essentially a pick-up truck with an extra-long bed. In the bed, there are benches on each side for people to sit and an awning overhead. Normally these are used as a taxi for multiple different parties, but we filled up the whole thing!

We headed to Royal Park Rajapruek which is a breathtaking garden surrounding the Royal Pavilion. There were gardens featured from around the world which we were able to see by riding on a tram around the park.

After that we traveled to a restaurant by the river for dinner. We were so loud! But really, we were just having so much fun chatting, eating, and drinking. We finally tried a beer the Americans liked!

After dinner we headed back to the hotel for late night swimming. We laughed in the pool for a long time throwing each other in and singing songs. Then slowly we all trickled in to our rooms for the night.
