DAY TWENTY:

As per usual, we packed up our rooms and headed out of Doi Tung. Before leaving, we stopped by the big garden. You can tell that we were all becoming desensitized to the beauty and amount of flowers by this point.

After our short tour, we left the mountain and descended to a place called the Black House. A famous artist in Thailand owned the home until he passed away last year. Now it is a sort of museum. His work is...dark to say the least. The entire house was black. Most things in the home were black. There were a lot of animal bones, horns, antlers, furs, etc. I was pretty surprised that the Thais revered him so much considering how his art is so unlike anything I've seen so far.

After our short visit, we traveled to The White Temple. Now picture the complete opposite. Picture a Disney castle that was completely white. It honestly hurt my eyes to look at, it was so bright.

Afterwards, we headed to Singha Park to learn about tea production. The Thais really appreciate their agriculture because places like this are so nice! We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch on top of the hill. On one side you could see the mountains. On another you could see the curved rows of tea plants. We were all so giddy just purely happy that we were there.

We took a tram tour of the place. We made a couple stops. My favorite was a little spot with traditional Thai clothes for people to try on. I, however, was completely distracted by the butterflies. I was totally transfixed there were so many flying around a bush. Katie snapped an amazing photo of three in one shot.

We finally made it back to Chaing Mai that night. We checked into our hotel and then spent the night shopping in this insanely huge outdoor market before we ate a late dinner. We were overwhelmed with foreigners. We were so used to living with the Thais!

Some went out that night, but as per usual, I was too tired. I took a long, well-deserved shower, and crawled in bed.
